Day 11 Livenhac- Le -Haut to Figeac

I did not have the best of nights sleep last night , I think that lovely meal laced with garlic took its toll on me!! I met everyone at the Gite for breakfast at 0700 , I have bought with me two crosses of rememberence, I decided to place one of them at the beautiful war memorial opposite the Gite .

I placed it in memory of all soldiers that have died for their country,
We were on the road by 0830, the weather was overcast as we climbed out of Livinhac.

We were to climb for four miles but at least it was not as steep as it had been over the last ten days.

The first village we came to was Montredon.

We were soon into open country walking along a ridge, yet again the views were stunning.

I have to confess I was not carrying my rucksack today as we had long walk ahead of us and due to my lack of sleep combined with the offer from the owner of the Gite to drop my rucksack at our next hotel, I decided to let common sense prevail, this lead to much mickey taking from my French friends, when I took of my tiny day pack to go into this little chapel, I returned to find it full of rocks !!! Revenge will be mine.

The terrain was definitely levelling off and had a feel of England about it.

The sun came out and it was time for lunch.

Didier produced a bottle of red from his rucksack and we got stuck in, as usual off came the boots.

By now much to my surprise it was getting quite hot.

Didier there might just be a golfer lurking within.

Maybe not!!!

Joan of Arc made her presence felt in this region.

I was really enjoying this walk, but tiredness was beginning to overwhelm me and I was pleased when we saw Figeac come into sight.

I checked into my hotel and washed my clothes, I used the mark four sock drier, it actually works !!!

Can you spot them finishing off.

I was looking out of my bedroom  when I spotted the Colley from dog on a blog come into view, he was still going strong , he will finish his Camino

Dog on a blog time.

I walked into town and met up within everyone for dinner, another fine meal was had.

Stats for today.

Walked 17 miles

140 miles covered.

295 miles to go.

Sadly I have done something to the left hand side of my ribs, it really hurts when I turn or move, so I have arranged for my rucksack to be moved on again tomorrow, I am just about to lose the toe nail on my left little toe, it is hanging off, apart from the above I am still in the hunt.

I said goodbye to Tony Sue and Sue last night as they are having a day off tomorrow, I hope I will see them again as they have been wonderful company. Buen Camino my friends.

It is now 0500, I fell asleep writing this last night.I have got 20 miles ahead of me in 3 hours.
