I had another bad nights sleep due to Hayfever, which I suppose is to be expected with all the fields I have been walking through.
Sadly my left kneecap was still really hurting, so I had to take painkillers.
We met for breakfast at 0800 and Jean and Florence met us at 0830.
Jean doing his impersonation of Napolean Bonaparte .
We were just about to set off when I noticed nasty dark clouds moving in from the west, so we put our wet weather gear on, five minutes later all hell let lose, it began to pour with rain followed closely by thunder.
It was raining so hard, I sadly could not take many photos, for fear of getting my phone wet.
Around this time a lightning bolt seemed to strike the ground about 50 foot from us, it certainly focused me .
Within an hour we were soaked to the skin, my feet were all sloshing around in my boots, such a contrast to yesterday..
We decided to stick to the roads as the tracks were so slippery .
Thank goodness we had Jean with us who knew where we was going.
It was hammering down.
We walked alongside the canal for about 4 miles.
These photographs do not do the appalling weather justice.
I could see the end of our journey in the distance, it seemed to take an eternity to get there , I was so cold.
Another stunning town awaited us.
Jean decided a fine lunch was in order, we were not going to argue with him.
The town was having a wine festival.
Linley gave my leg a massage.
I think I am getting a bit of a wild look about me
Spot the socks time
DOB. Enzo was also walking his own Camino.
After lunch we got a taxi back to Mossiac as Jeremy and Sheila need to catch a train to Toulouse to get a flight home tomorrow night.
I managed to get all my kit washed and dried courtesy of the hairdryer.
A fine evening meal was had and still it rained.
I can honestly say today has been ghastly due to the conditions.
Stats for,today
Walked 15 miles
Distance to go 193 miles.
Elevation gain 1007 feet
Elevation loss 983 feet.
Rain is forecast for tomorrow, just our luck!!
A huge thank you to Jeremy and Sheila for joining me on this amazing walk they have helped me get through another tough stage, Buen Camino!!!!
