Day 2 Falzet back to Moniistrol d Allier

We woke up at 0700, thankfully we were sharing a room so Barney did not oversleep, due to the lack off accomadation ahead of us we decided to get a bus to  Falzet which is 17 miles ahead of us on the Camino,  then walk back to our hotel then get a bus to tomorrow to drop us back to Falzet.

If you look carefully you can see my socks dangling from the window on my make shift clothes line.

The bus dropped off us and we headed back against the flow of pilgrims heading west.Shadow time.

Just like yesterday the views were stunning.

Had a wonderful greeting from this little chap.

We were heading towards Sangues,  which was 5 miles away, when we came across this little beauty, I have never seen a finer looking donkey than this little poser, so girls at European this is the donkey on a blog.

I have peaked but more is to come later. Minutes later we came across the dog on a blog who is walking his own Camino.

His own little rucksack. We continued on towards Sangues, we did not pass through any villages.

Get off that phone Barney !!!

With pride sporting our ABF The Soldiers Charity T Shirts.

Sangues came into view and we soon entered the town.

I wondered  if she would give my smalls  a go for me.

Brave lady if she did !!!

After lunch we climbed  out of Sangues.

We came across a carving of the bĂȘte du Gevaudan, folklore tells of the beast terrorising the local area in the 16th century feasting himself on the local populace .

We continued to climb as it got hotter and hotter.

I never thought I would see a donkey walking the Camino.

Time for a rest.

At last we started the steep descent back to our hotel.

We came across this chapel carved out of the mountain side.

We had been descending for an hour when at last the end was in sight.

We dropped our rucksacks back at the hotel and went down to the river to soak our aching feet.

Then it was time to start the blog.

We have just had a superb meal and it is time for bed, to say we are both exhausted is an understatement. What a wonderful days walking we have had, testing it has been, but worth every ache
and pain,

Distant  covered 18 miles

37300 steps .

A huge thank you to our wonderful hosts Patrick and Peter for a superb two evenings at the Hotel Sucre.
