Day 8 Senergues to Conques

James drove us to Senergues as I have got to miss a small stage of the Camino due to time scales as I have got friends joining me along the way, so I have to confess I have missed 20 Km of the walk, otherwise I would not have made the deadlines to meet them. We stopped at Estaing, what a beautiful  place.

Today was going to be a bit of Citroen 2CV day.

We had a cup of tea and we were on our way.

We met some wonderful Aussies,  Sue Sue and Tony, we walked most of the way with them.

It did not take long to get to Conques, what a stunning place.

Dog on a blog time, get ready for a four legged legend, this little chap was on the blog 5 days ago, I found out today he has walked all the way from Belguim, could not believe it when I bumped into him this  morning, yet  again I am not worthy.

We checked into our hotel, can you spot them?

We all went out for dinner together, I had a really great evening in wonderful company, yet again.

At last I have broken through the 100 mile barrier. I am beginning to realise why I joined the cavalry not the infantry.

Stats for today

Walked 7.67 miles

Descended 1224 ft

Gained. 582 ft

Distance to go 341 miles.

Tomorrow I say goodbye to James and Heather, I cannot thank them both enough for all the support they have given me on this amazing journey, I look forward to welcoming Jeremy and Sheila in 5 days.

  1. These little towns and villages look so postcard, no industrial bits or acres of tarmac!!! Hope you are enjoying the walking...
