The Great Dane duly arrived last night and we had a couple of beers, then went for dinner, we fell into our room at 2300.
We were up at 0645 and on the road by 0730.
The Five Muskateers.
We followed the river out of Condom.
We were soon in open country.
Pont-d'Artigues.
Most of the day we walked past row after row of vines and fields of wheat.
I had told Martin about the walking legend, so he was delighted when we walked around a bend and there he was again, still going strong.
What a wonderful dog, I wanted to shake his paw.
I always thought I had a good sense of direction!!!
We walked into Montreal and had some lunch.
I asked Martin if he would put my conjunctivitis drops in my eyes.
Not sure it was a wise move!!
He has only been here for 14 hours and I have flipped.
A quick Rubberneck and we moved on.
For a large part of the afternoon we walked along a disused railway line .
It was starting to get really hot with little shelter .
After 23 gruelling miles we arrived at Eauze, we were shattered.
Another huge cathedral.
We checked into our hotel.
Dog on a blog, a reluctant one!!
Spot the socks.
We had a fine Italien meal and one for the road at our hotel.
Today has been along walk, my left kneecap is really hurting still and to make things worse, I have got five cracks in the skin on my right heal, that is a new ailment to me and it is really painful, I suspect my feet getting wet has caused it.
Stats for today .
Walked 23 miles
121 miles to go
49000 steps
what stunning countryside! remember to avoid horses - you might lose the Dane ; )
